ARES Scholarships 2027-28 in Belgium (Fully Funded )

The ARES Scholarships 2027-28 in Belgium offer fully-funded opportunities for specialised bachelor's degrees, specialised master's programs (up to 12 months), and continuing training courses (up to 6 months). These scholarships aim to deepen skills in areas related to global development and equip participants with practical experience for career growth and community transformation.

This is a fully-funded scholarship. It covers international travel expenses, a subsistence allowance, insurance costs, and tuition fees for specialised bachelor's and master's programs. Exceptional costs related to visa applications are also covered for bachelor's and master's programs. For continuing training, indirect mission expenses are provided.

Ethiopian students are eligible. Applicants must be permanent residents and workers in one of the 32 eligible countries (including Ethiopia). Palestinian nationals are an exception to the residence requirement. Candidates must hold a graduate degree (for master's/continuing training) or meet the admission requirements for the selected specialised bachelor's program. The most recent academic degree must have been earned no more than 20 years before the program start (extended by one year for each childbirth/adoption). A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in one of the eligible countries, acquired after the most recent graduate degree and before the application deadline, is required. A good written and spoken command of the language in which the selected program is taught is essential.

Required documents include two recommendation letters (academic and/or professional), certified copies of original diplomas, certified copies of original transcripts for all years of study, proof of occupation for the last five years, a certificate of nationality or a copy of the passport, and a pre-project if specifically required for the chosen program.

Applicants must first create an active GIRAF account or log in if they already have one. After logging in, access the application form under the "Competitive Calls" section by clicking "Application – International Training 2027–2028." The form can be completed in multiple sessions using the "Save as Draft" option. Once submitted, the application cannot be modified. Submitted applications will be available under "My Submitted Applications."

Only one training program can be selected per application. Basic knowledge of French can be beneficial for daily life integration in Belgium. Selection criteria include the quality of previous education, professional experiences, not being a prior recipient of an ARES scholarship, being a member of a partner institution, and demonstrating potential to bring change in society.
