Overview

The Banach NAWA Scholarship Programme is a fully funded Master's scholarship offered by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and the Polish Government. Its primary goal is to support the socio-economic development of selected developing countries by enhancing the education and professional skills of their citizens. The program allows students to pursue second-cycle (Master's) studies in Poland, with studies available in both Polish and English.

Coverage

This is a fully funded scholarship. It includes: - A tuition fee waiver at public universities in Poland. - A monthly stipend of PLN 2,500 throughout the study period. - A one-time travel allowance for international travel. - A funded preparatory course for those choosing the Polish-track (if selected). - A Polish language and culture course for students on the English-track.

Eligibility

- Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible developing countries covered by Polish Aid from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. (Ethiopian students are considered eligible as other African developing countries are included). - Applicants must not hold Polish citizenship or have applied for it. - Applicants must be planning to commence second-cycle (Master’s) studies in October 2026. - Applicants must have completed a first-cycle (Bachelor’s) degree no earlier than 2024, or be in the final semester and expected to graduate by July 15, 2026. - Applicants must not already hold a Master’s (second-cycle or long-cycle) degree. - Applicants must not have previously received a NAWA scholarship for second-cycle studies. - Language proficiency is required: for the Polish-track, a minimum B1 level (for preparatory course) or B2 level (for direct studies in Polish); for the English-track, a minimum B2 level in English.

Requirements

Applicants are typically required to submit the following documents: - A scan of their passport page containing personal data. - Their first-cycle (Bachelor’s) diploma along with a transcript/supplement showing the full name, university name, list of subjects and grades, and average grade. If the diploma has not yet been received, an official university certificate with these details and the expected graduation date must be submitted. - A document confirming participation in the admission process for second-cycle studies in Poland (e.g., admission letter, conditional admission letter, letter of acceptance, proof of application/registration, or proof of contact with the university). This is not required for applicants choosing the preparatory course + studies path. - A document confirming knowledge of the language of instruction (Polish at minimum B1 for preparatory course or B2 for studies in Polish, or English at minimum B2 for studies in English).
