Overview

The Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is a prestigious award for high-achieving international students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees at Deakin University in Australia. It aims to support students who demonstrate academic excellence and the potential to contribute to the university community.

Coverage

Successful recipients receive either a 100% or a 50% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of their course. Additionally, scholars gain access to the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP) and receive priority consideration for on-campus accommodation (at the student's own cost).

Eligibility

Open to international students (including Ethiopian citizens) who are new to Deakin University. Applicants must have achieved at least an 85% average (or equivalent) in their previous studies. Students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program are ineligible.

Requirements

Applicants must meet English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 (CEFR B2) for undergraduate degrees or IELTS 6.5 (CEFR C1) for postgraduate coursework. Required documents include a completed application form, a 300-word personal statement, two references highlighting leadership or community involvement, academic transcripts, and evidence of extracurricular or work experience.

How to apply

Interested students must apply for a course at Deakin University first. The scholarship application form must be completed and emailed to Deakin International Admissions at least one month before the course start date.

Notes

If not selected for this specific scholarship, applicants are automatically considered for the Deakin International Scholarship. It is advised to apply well in advance of the course commencement.
