Overview

The Erasmus Mundus EMSSE Scholarship 2027 offers an excellent opportunity for students to pursue a Master's degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering in Europe. The European Master in Sustainable Systems Engineering (EMSSE) is a two-year joint master’s programme delivered by a consortium of four universities in France, Italy, Spain, and Albania. This program aims to equip students with skills to design efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly systems. It focuses on systems engineering, helping students understand how to design and improve complex systems, and how engineering decisions impact the environment, economy, and society. Students will develop expertise in systems design, manufacturing systems, prediction, and optimisation strategies.

Coverage

The Erasmus Mundus scholarship is fully funded, providing a monthly allowance of €1,400 for both academic years. It covers the full programme tuition fees, comprehensive health insurance, and other required participation costs. The programme also offers a separate mobility scholarship with different funding conditions, which applicants should review carefully.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to students from various countries, including Ethiopian citizens, provided they meet the programme’s academic and language proficiency requirements. Applicants are generally required to hold a Bachelor’s degree.

To apply, you will need to prepare the following documents: - A valid passport. - A Bachelor’s degree certificate or an accepted provisional degree statement. - An English language certificate or approved proof of exemption. - A Curriculum Vitae (CV). - A motivation letter of no more than 500 words, or a self-presentation video of no more than 60 seconds. - A recommendation letter.

How to apply

The official recruitment campaign for the 2027–2029 intake will run from November 15, 2026, to February 15, 2027. Prospective students should carefully review all funding options and eligibility criteria on the official EMSSE website. The application process involves submitting all required documents through the official program portal during the specified application window.
