Overview

The GLOCAL Erasmus Mundus Scholarship is a fully funded, two-year International Masters Program in "Global Markets, Local Creativities." Funded by Erasmus Mundus and the European Union, the program is set to begin in September 2027. Students will study at three different partner universities across various countries during the program, offering a blend of lectures, seminars, internships, and thesis opportunities.

Coverage

This is a fully-funded scholarship covering your full tuition fees for the entire Master’s program. It includes health and accident insurance, a monthly living allowance of €1,400, and an optional contribution towards travel and installation costs.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to students from all countries, including Ethiopia. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification that meets GLOCAL’s academic entry requirements. Students who are still completing their degree are eligible to apply, provided they meet the program’s requirements for submitting final degree documentation. Applicants must also meet the English language proficiency requirements of the program and have an academic background relevant to their chosen GLOCAL study track. You must choose only one GLOCAL study track for your application.

Requirements

To apply, you will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, proof of English language proficiency, and an academic background relevant to your chosen study track. You must submit a Supporting Personal Statement of no more than 1,200 words, detailing your motivation, academic background, career plans, relevant experience, and potential Master’s thesis area. If you have significant work experience after graduation, you should explain how it relates to the program and your reasons for returning to academic study. Required documents for upload include: a completed application form (clearly stating your preferred study track), your CV, two supporting references, transcripts of all university-level academic studies to date, degree certificates, and a color scan of your current passport photo page.

How to apply

All applications must be submitted through the University of Glasgow’s online application system. First, create an account and log into the application portal. Download the application form in .docx format. Fill in your personal and contact information, write your personal statement according to the instructions, and select your preferred mobility track. Read and agree to the declaration, then sign and date it. Save the completed form as a PDF file. Finally, upload this PDF form along with all other required supporting documents to your GLOCAL online application.

Notes

The application deadline for the scholarship is January 14, 2027, at 13:00 UK time. Scholarship applicants will be notified of their application outcome in April 2027. Please note that Study Track H is not recruiting for the 2027 intake. The GLOCAL team is unable to provide personalized guidance on a candidate’s eligibility for the program or suitability for a particular study track. Self-funded applications submitted after the scholarship deadline will be advised of their outcome on a rolling basis.
