Overview

The Helmut Veith Scholarship is an annual scholarship for outstanding and motivated female master's students in Computer Science at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology) in Austria. It is dedicated to the memory of Helmut Veith, an influential computer scientist, and aims to encourage women to pursue advanced studies and careers in technology and computer science research.

Coverage

This scholarship is fully funded. Recipients will receive a full tuition fee waiver for their master's program at TU Wien. Additionally, an annual stipend of EUR 7,000 will be provided for up to two years, covering the duration of the master's program.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to female students of all nationalities. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent field. They should possess strong mathematical and technical knowledge and demonstrate interest in at least one of Helmut Veith's research areas, including Logic in Computer Science, Formal Methods and Verification, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Complexity Theory, or Computer Security. Proficiency in English is required, and applicants must meet the admission requirements for one of the eligible English-taught master's programs in Computer Science at TU Wien. Recipients must reside in Austria during term time for the duration of their studies and maintain good academic progress, achieving at least 25 ECTS credits per term on average and a grade average of at most 1.5.

Notes

An application for funding can be submitted before or in parallel with the admissions process for the master's program. However, the scholarship will only be awarded to applicants who have been unconditionally admitted to their chosen master's program at TU Wien. A conditional offer of funding does not guarantee admission to the university. The stipend is provided for a maximum of two years, subject to the recipient meeting the required academic conditions and residency requirements.
