The Kyoto University CSEAS Fellowship in Japan is a prestigious opportunity for accomplished researchers, scholars, and professionals from around the world. Hosted by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at Kyoto University, this program allows participants to conduct independent research, collaborate with experts, and engage in academic activities in Japan. The fellowship aims to promote research activities in and on Southeast Asia, as well as comparative and regional issues from a multi-area perspective.

Coverage

This is a fully-funded fellowship. It provides comprehensive financial support including: * International airfare to and from Japan. * A monthly stipend for living expenses. * Funds for domestic travel within Japan (if required). * Research funds to support academic work.

Eligibility

* Nationality: Open to researchers, scholars, and professionals from around the world. * Age: Applicants must be accomplished scholars of high standing who are under 65 years of age at the time of the fellowship appointment. Applicants over 65 may be considered in exceptional cases. * Academic Status: A PhD is generally required. Applicants without a PhD are ineligible unless they have obtained prior approval from a CSEAS faculty member to serve as their counterpart.
