Overview

The Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Scholarship for 2026/27 is now accepting applications. This fully funded scholarship allows international students to pursue a Master’s degree at leading public universities in Malaysia. The scholarship is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, and aims to foster global cooperation and support students from developing countries. Applicants must first secure an admission offer from a Malaysian public university before applying for the scholarship.

Coverage

This is a fully funded scholarship covering full tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, and a return airfare ticket.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to citizens of MTCP recipient countries, specifically developing countries. Applicants must be 45 years old or younger at the time of application. A bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 is required. Crucially, applicants must have secured an admission offer from a Malaysian public university before submitting their scholarship application.

Requirements

All required documents must be scanned and uploaded in PDF format via the online application. These include: the online application form, a university admission offer letter, two recommendation letters (using the MTCP template), a Statement of Intent, certified undergraduate academic transcripts, an official document explaining the university’s grading system, a Curriculum Vitae (CV), certified English proficiency test results (if applicable), a passport copy, and a medical examination report (using the MTCP template).

How to apply

Applicants should first secure an admission offer from one of the Malaysian public universities supported by the MTCP scholarship. Although you can apply to multiple universities, only one recent admission/conditional offer letter should be uploaded to the MTCP Online application Form. It is highly recommended to read the MTCP Scholarship 2026 Guidelines thoroughly before applying. The application is submitted online through the official MTCP Scholarship website.

Notes

The scholarship duration is between 24 and 36 months. The program is designed to build capacity and share Malaysia’s development experience with participants globally.
