Overview

Study in Russia on a fully funded scholarship through the Open Doors Scholarship 2027. This is an international competition organized by the Global Universities Association under the auspices of Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It offers international students and young researchers the opportunity to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral (PhD), or Postdoctoral studies at leading Russian universities. Winners can receive tuition-free study in Russia.

Coverage

The scholarship is fully funded. It covers full tuition fees, provides free admission, a monthly stipend, and accommodation. Students are also permitted to work.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to all nationalities. For the Master’s track, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or be completing one in the academic year of the competition. For the PhD (Doctoral) track, applicants must have a master’s or specialist’s degree or be completing one in the academic year of the competition. For the Bachelor’s track, applicants must have completed or be completing their general secondary education. Specific requirements for the Postdoctoral track involve a video presentation of research achievements.

Requirements

Applicants need to register online, create an account, fill out a portfolio, and take an entrance test. All important documents must be attached. For the Postdoctoral track, a video presentation showcasing the participant’s research achievements in the selected subject area is required for the second stage.

How to apply

Register online by creating an account on the official website. Fill out your portfolio and take the entrance test available in your account, attaching all important documents. After the portfolio results are announced, winners will be invited to take the second stage. Following the evaluation of the second stage and an interview, final winners will be selected to study for free in Russia. Applicants can choose 1 to 6 universities and from 14 subject areas. If the top-priority university does not offer the chosen program, your application will be transferred to the next university of your priority.

Applicants are advised to read the Rules and FAQs on the official website before applying. The competition takes place entirely online. Russian degrees are recognized in many countries, especially in Asia, Africa, and BRICS countries.
