The OYW ICMM Young Leaders Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity for young leaders globally who are making a significant impact in sustainability, climate action, or social development. This scholarship supports participation in the One Young World Summit 2026, which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa. The program is a partnership between One Young World, a global community of young leaders, and the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), an organization focused on sustainable development in the mining industry.
Coverage
This is a fully funded scholarship. Selected participants will receive full financial support to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa. Benefits include access to exclusive dialogue sessions with ICMM leadership and industry experts, lifelong membership in the One Young World Ambassador community for networking, access to the One Young World Action Accelerator to develop ideas, expert-led mentorship sessions, and participation in the Global Kickstart programme focused on leadership skills and global challenges. It offers international exposure and a platform to present your work.
Eligibility
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the summit (November 3-6, 2026). Exceptional candidates above 35 years may also be considered based on their experience and impact. Candidates must be leading initiatives, projects, or programs with proven impact in at least one of the following areas: biodiversity conservation, decarbonisation, responsible natural resource production, social performance, or sustainability. Applicants should demonstrate strong leadership skills, a clear commitment to creating positive change, and a willingness to actively engage and collaborate with other participants. They must also show clear motivation and a strong vision for attending the summit and explain how their work contributes to solving real-world challenges.
