Overview

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) provide a unique opportunity for students from Commonwealth countries to pursue a two-year Master's degree at an Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) member institution in a low- or middle-income Commonwealth country other than their own.

Coverage

The scholarship is fully-funded, covering tuition fees, a living allowance (stipend), return economy flights to the host country, an arrival allowance, and a research support grant (subject to approval).

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens or hold refugee status in a Commonwealth country. Ethiopia is a member of the Commonwealth, making Ethiopian students eligible. Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree with at least a 2:1 equivalent. There is no upper age limit.

Requirements

Applicants must apply for a two-year Master's degree at a participating university. You must apply for admission to the university course separately from the scholarship application.

How to apply

Applications are submitted through the official ACU website. You must check the official portal for current cycle opening dates (typically November/December and March/April). You are encouraged to apply for your chosen university course at the same time as the scholarship application.

Notes

Scholarships are for new students only and cannot fund courses already in progress. Ensure you review the specific list of eligible courses and universities on the official website for each cycle.
