Overview

The HIE Help Center offers an annual scholarship of $1,000 to support students pursuing a career in special education. Coverage: A one-time award of $1,000, which is paid directly to the educational institution where the winner is enrolled. Eligibility: Open to both undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an institution of higher education in the United States. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must not be a past, present, or future client of ABC Law Centers. Requirements: Applicants must submit an academic transcript and a response to the prompt: 'Why you are pursuing a career in special education? What do you wish to contribute to the field as a special educator?' The response can be an essay (750–1,000 words, PDF format) or a creative project (photo, video, or performance). How to apply: Applications must be submitted via the official Google Form provided on the HIE Help Center website during the open application window. Notes: The application period for 2026 is June 30th to July 31st. Winners are contacted privately before a public announcement.
