Funding fully funded Overview
The SECAI AI Masters Scholarship 2026 is offered to international students pursuing Master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and related interdisciplinary fields in Germany. This scholarship aims to support the next generation of AI researchers and innovators by covering living expenses, allowing students to focus on their studies, professional networking, and research development. SECAI is part of Germany’s national Zuse Schools program, supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.
Coverage
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of EUR 934. There is a possibility of an extra family allowance for qualified overseas students. The scholarship allows students to concentrate fully on their academic study and research in Germany, providing access to SECAI's expert AI research network and exposure to multidisciplinary AI initiatives. It also facilitates integration into Germany’s AI research and academic environment. Please note that if a student earns more than EUR 603 gross per month, the grant amount may be reduced after declaration. The funding duration is limited to the remaining standard study period of the recipient's program.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to international students, including those from developing countries, individuals who have experienced political persecution, systemic disadvantages, displacement due to conflict, or refugee situations. Women in STEM disciplines are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be highly qualified current or prospective Master's students who have achieved excellent results in their Bachelor's studies, with a cumulative grade point average of 1.7 or better (after conversion to the German grading system). Students in German Diplom study programs are considered Master level after completing the first two years of their study. The program actively welcomes applications from interdisciplinary backgrounds, such as engineering, medicine, psychology, law, computational sciences, and human-centered AI studies, provided their electives, thesis work, or research concentration is AI-related. Specific eligible Master's programs include M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Computational Modeling and Simulation (Applied Artificial Intelligence track or Computational Life Science track), M.Sc. Nanoelectronic Systems, M.Sc. Data Science, M.Sc. Bioinformatics, and M.Sc. Medical Informatics.
Requirements
To apply, candidates must submit:
