Overview

The United Nations Regional Course in International Law 2026 offers specialized training for qualified professionals, government officials, and teachers from emerging economies and developing countries. Held in Bangkok, Thailand, it provides in-depth knowledge of international law and the UN's legal work through interactive seminars and discussions.

Coverage

This is a fully funded fellowship. It covers economy-class airfare, free accommodation, medical insurance, a stipend for living expenses, training materials, and daily breakfast and lunch for selected participants.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a legal background and professional experience in international law, and be fluent in English. Candidates must be available to attend the entire course from 23 November to 16 December 2026. The program is open to individuals from United Nations Member States and observer states in the Asia-Pacific region. It is primarily intended for government officials, teachers of international law, and other professionals working in related fields. Ethiopian students are eligible as Ethiopia is a UN Member State and a developing country.

Requirements

The application requires two parts: an electronic form submission and a downloadable application form. Additionally, a letter of transmission and an English language test certificate (if not a native speaker) are needed.
