Overview

The WIPO Internship Program offers students and recent graduates from around the world an opportunity to gain international work experience at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This paid internship focuses on innovation, creativity, and intellectual property initiatives.

Coverage

This is a fully funded internship. Benefits include a monthly stipend (CHF 1,645 for Category I, CHF 2,170 for Category II), medical and professional accident insurance, visa assistance for Switzerland, and paid annual leave (2.5 days per month). Eligible applicants from developing, least developed, and transition countries may also receive up to CHF 1,500 for travel reimbursement, and the program covers round-trip airfare and local transportation expenses in Geneva.

Eligibility

Applicants must be international students or recent graduates. Category I (Undergraduate): Currently enrolled in a first-degree program (Bachelor's) or equivalent, or have completed their first degree and are enrolled in a graduate program, or have completed their first degree and are about to enroll in a graduate program within 12 months. Category II (Graduate): Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master's, PhD) or equivalent, or have completed their graduate degree within the last two years. All applicants must demonstrate professional proficiency in English and/or French, have an interest in innovation, intellectual property, international development, or related fields, and be available for the internship duration. Former WIPO interns are not eligible to apply again.

Requirements

Applicants should prepare an updated CV/Resume, a Motivation Letter, Educational Transcripts, Proof of Enrollment or Degree Certificate, and language proficiency information (if applicable). Any additional documents requested in the online application must also be provided.
