Overview

The Young Climate Prize is a global fellowship and mentorship program designed to support young changemakers (aged 13–25) who are leading active projects to combat climate change. The program aims to scale local impact through design-led solutions.

Coverage

Finalists receive individual mentorship from world-leading designers, weekly training through The World Around Design Academy, strategic guidance for project scaling, and access to a global peer network. Selected participants may also receive the opportunity to travel to New York City to present their work at The World Around Summit. The program includes a three-year fellowship network post-participation.

Eligibility

Open to applicants from all countries worldwide. Applicants must be between 13 and 25 years old. Individuals or groups of up to three members may apply, provided every member meets the age requirement.

Requirements

Applicants must be the founder or co-founder of a live project that demonstrates measurable impact in addressing or mitigating climate change in their community. Submissions must include a short (2-minute) video introducing the project and supporting materials (written or visual) showing evidence of impact. Applications are accepted in English or Spanish.

Projects can span various sectors, including clean energy, sustainable farming, waste management, and conservation, with a particular emphasis on design as a driver for climate solutions.
