Overview

The Zayed University Merit Scholarship in the United Arab Emirates offers financial support to outstanding international undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree at Zayed University.

Coverage

This scholarship covers the full tuition fees for eligible students. It does not cover additional costs such as laptops, food, housing, or transport.

Eligibility

Nationality: Open to all international students from any country, including Ethiopian citizens. Academic Level: Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree program. Academic Merit: Candidates must demonstrate an excellent academic background and be considered outstanding students. Admission: Applicants must have secured admission to an undergraduate degree program at Zayed University. Quota: The number of international students who may be awarded scholarships is calculated at 10% of the total number of UAE Nationals enrolled in undergraduate programs at the university in any given academic year.

Requirements

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants are generally required to submit documents such as: a personal photo, previous high school diploma certificate, copy of a valid passport, valid visa copy, a positive reference letter from their most recent school, an IELTS certificate with a score of 6.0 (no less than 5.5 band) or a TOEFL Certificate with an iBT score of 80, a salary letter or financial statement of the student’s guardian, an essay on personal achievements/community services, and proof of any awards. Specific requirements should be confirmed on the official university website.

How to apply

Applicants must first apply for and gain admission to a Bachelor's degree program at Zayed University through their online application system. After admission, students will be considered for the scholarship. Scholarship applications are reviewed by the Admissions and Outreach Committee before being forwarded to the Scholarship Committee for final endorsement.

Notes

This is a merit-based scholarship. Fulfilling the eligibility requirements and applying does not guarantee that a student will be granted the scholarship. Zayed University also offers other financial aid options like the Undergraduate Family Grant and tuition fee discounts for children of ZU employees, though these are separate from the Merit Scholarship.
