Successful interns receive a monthly tax-free stipend of USD $1,000 and a housing allowance of USD $500. The bank also covers reasonable return airfare, one week of hotel accommodation during induction, airport transfers, and provides a residence visa if required.

Eligibility

The program is open to nationals of Afreximbank member states (including Ethiopia), students of African descent in the diaspora, and non-African students whose vision aligns with the bank's mission. Applicants must be aged between 20 and 32. Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible.

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program. Preferred fields of study include economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, and engineering. Candidates must be fluent in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an advantage.

Applicants must complete the online internship application form on the official Afreximbank website. Required documents include a letter of application, current CV, copy of valid passport, certified academic certificates, a recommendation letter from their university, and a short statement of intent (maximum 1 A4 page).
