Overview

The CERN Short-Term Internship Programme offers students the chance to gain practical experience at one of the world's leading scientific research centers in Geneva, Switzerland. Interns work on real-world projects alongside international experts.

Coverage

Interns receive a monthly allowance of 1,593 Swiss Francs. The duration of the internship ranges from 1 to 6 months.

Eligibility

Open to students of all nationalities, including Ethiopian students. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program.

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in a technical, engineering, or administrative field. The internship must be a required or encouraged part of your university curriculum. Candidates should demonstrate a growth mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to develop professional skills.

Notes

There is no application fee. IELTS is not required. The deadline for the 2026 cycle is November 1, 2026.
