Overview

The CICOPS Scholarships Program 2027 is a research initiative offered by the University of Pavia and EDISU to foster international cooperation with developing countries. It provides 8 scholarships for visiting scholars to conduct research at the University of Pavia for a duration of 4 to 12 weeks.

Coverage

The scholarship is fully funded. It includes travel expenses, accommodation, free meals at university canteens, health and accident insurance, and a stipend of 150.00 Euros per week.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens of and currently residing in a World Bank-classified low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle-income economy (Ethiopia is eligible). Applicants must be employed by a university, higher education institution, public/non-profit research center, or international public institution for at least two years. Those currently enrolled in a doctoral or postgraduate course at an Italian university are not eligible.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree, or have at least two years of teaching/research/technical experience. You must demonstrate recent research activity through at least two authored scientific publications. A mandatory invitation letter from a professor at the University of Pavia is required to apply.

How to apply

Contact the professor directly with your CV and research proposal to secure an invitation letter. 3. Once the invitation letter is received, complete the online application form via the official PICA portal.

Notes

Incomplete applications will be rejected. Results are typically announced in July. After the program, scholars must submit a report on their work and copies of any resulting publications.
