Overview

The CIVICUS Research Internship 2026 is a 12-month remote opportunity for international applicants. Interns will work with the CIVICUS research team on topics related to civil society trends worldwide, including interviews, reports, publications, and social media content. It offers hands-on experience in qualitative research, report writing, interview coordination, and digital communication.

Coverage

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of USD 600, totaling USD 7,200 over the 12-month duration. Benefits also include remote work flexibility, international work experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to research and publications.

Eligibility

This internship is open to international applicants from all countries, including Ethiopian students. Applicants should hold a degree (or be near completion) in social sciences or related fields. Ideal candidates include students in social sciences, recent graduates, researchers interested in civil society, youth activists, and individuals interested in human rights and development.

Requirements

Applicants must possess excellent English writing skills, be comfortable working remotely, demonstrate a strong interest in civil society issues, and be capable of working independently and meeting deadlines. No application fee is required, and IELTS is not a mandatory requirement.
