The CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program offers financial support for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to pursue careers in finance, accounting, business, and other related emerging fields in the United States. The program aims to identify future leaders and assist them in achieving their academic and professional goals. It is administered by Scholarship America.
Coverage
Selected students will receive a one-time scholarship award of $15,000. Up to 69 awards will be granted. This financial assistance is intended to help cover educational expenses such as tuition and other education-related costs. Additionally, recipients may have the opportunity to secure internships with CLA affiliated offices, providing valuable practical experience.
Eligibility
Applicants must be high school seniors, high school graduates, or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students. They must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in a field related to CLA, such as accounting, business, or finance. Students from emerging fields like computer science, data science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, UX/UI, and other related areas are also encouraged to apply. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) is required. Employees and interns of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) or the CLA Foundation, along with their immediate family members (including spouses/partners, grandchildren, and children of employees, officers, and executives), are not eligible to apply. Financial need will be considered during the selection process and must be demonstrated as calculated by Scholarship America.
Requirements
To apply, you must prepare and submit the following documents: a complete and current transcript of grades, SAT or ACT scores (if not already included in your transcript), one online recommendation form, and a clear statement outlining your educational and career goals. All required documents must be submitted electronically.
How to apply
First, gather all necessary documents, including your academic transcript and the recommendation form. Next, complete the online application form through the official platform provided by Scholarship America. Carefully upload all required documents and thoroughly review your application for accuracy and completeness. Ensure that your recommendation form is submitted within the specified timeframe, even if it is after the main application deadline. Incomplete applications may not be considered. Finally, submit your application before the deadline and await the results announcement.
Notes
Scholarship recipients are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of academic performance, demonstrated leadership skills, relevant work experience, participation in school or community activities, and proven financial need. All applications undergo a competitive review process by Scholarship America. Successful applicants will be notified in July via email, so it is crucial to provide an active personal email address that you will continue to access. Scholarship payments will be processed in early August.
