The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) offers various fully funded scholarships for international students from developing and emerging countries to pursue Master's or PhD degrees in Germany.

Coverage

Scholarships are fully funded, covering a monthly stipend (€992 for graduates, €1,300–€1,400 for doctoral candidates), comprehensive health, accident, and personal liability insurance, and a travel allowance for round-trip airfare. Family allowances (marriage/child) may be available under specific conditions.

Eligibility

Applicants must be from a developing or emerging country (Ethiopia is eligible). You must hold an above-average Bachelor's degree (top third of your cohort) earned within the last six years. You must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months prior to the application deadline.

Requirements

Required documents include a completed DAAD application form, a signed checklist, a 3-page CV, a 1-2 page motivation letter, university degree certificates, proof of language proficiency (English or German depending on the program), two letters of recommendation, and a valid passport copy. For EPOS programs, at least two years of relevant professional experience is mandatory.
