Overview

The East-West Center (EWC) Graduate Degree Fellowship provides an opportunity for students to pursue graduate studies at the University of Hawai’i while engaging in leadership development, cultural exchange, and community building. The program aims to foster a sense of Asia-Pacific community among future leaders.

Coverage

This is a fully funded fellowship covering housing in an EWC dormitory, health insurance, books, and partial funding for meals and incidental expenses. Additional competitive funding is available for field studies, conference attendance, and presentations.

Eligibility

The program is open to international students, including those from Ethiopia. Applicants must hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 in their recent studies. Applicants must also meet the University of Hawai’i graduate admission requirements.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a CV/Resume, a passport biography page, a graduate program statement of objectives, and proof of application submission to the University of Hawai’i.
