Google Software Developer Internship 2027 in Canada

This is the Google Software Developer Internship for Summer 2027 in Canada. It is a 12-14 week paid internship designed for PhD students to gain practical experience in designing and building scalable, distributed software systems. Interns will work on critical business and technical needs, focusing on computer science problems such as AI, algorithm optimization, and sustainable technology solutions, while collaborating with experts.

This is a fully-funded, paid internship. Interns will receive compensation of CAD 120,000 with a 0% bonus target for the duration of the internship in Canada.

To be eligible, candidates must currently be enrolled in a PhD program with a focus on software development or other relevant technical fields. Proficiency in coding using programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python is required. Applicants must have a strong understanding of computer science, data structures, algorithms, and software design. Experience conducting research in areas like Algorithms, Computer Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Compilers, Databases, Data Mining, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Networking, or Systems is also necessary. Crucially, applicants must be located in Canada for the entire duration of the internship program. English proficiency is a requirement. Preferred qualifications include currently attending a degree program in Canada and being available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term, or being in the penultimate (second last) year of study or planning to return to a degree program after the internship.
