Overview

The IFAD Internship Program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical work experience at IFAD headquarters in Rome or at regional/country offices. The program focuses on international and rural development.

Coverage

All interns receive a monthly allowance. Interns from developing countries (including Ethiopia) who travel to the duty station receive an additional allowance for accommodation and travel expenses.

Eligibility

Applicants must be 30 years old or younger. You must be a current university student who has completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, or a recent graduate who completed their degree within the last 24 months.

Requirements

Applicants must be fluent in English. Proficiency in an additional IFAD official language (Arabic, French, or Spanish) or another language relevant to the assignment region is required.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted through the official IFAD careers portal. You must register an account, create a profile, search for open internship vacancies, and submit the required documents, including your CV and the online application form.

Notes

There is no fixed global deadline; the deadline depends on the specific vacancy posted on the IFAD career portal. Internships last for 6 months with the possibility of a 6-month extension.
