The KAUST Scholarship Program 2027 offers an excellent opportunity for international students to pursue postgraduate programs (Masters and PhD) in Saudi Arabia. Hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), this is a fully funded, merit-based scholarship designed for students with strong academic records in science, technology, and engineering fields.
Coverage
The scholarship is fully funded and covers all academic expenses. Benefits include full tuition and bench fees (valued up to USD $35,000 per year). A monthly stipend is provided, amounting to USD $20,000 per year for M.S. students and USD $25,000 to $30,000 per year for Ph.D. students, depending on qualifications and academic progress. Accommodation is included, with shared options for single students and two-bed accommodation for married students (housing upgrades are available for an additional fee). Health insurance is provided for students and eligible dependents living on campus. Additionally, relocation support, covering visa, relocation, and travel costs, is included. The total value of the KAUST Fellowship can reach approximately $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to international students from all countries, including Ethiopia. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject for entry into master’s programs, or a master’s degree in a relevant subject for entry into PhD programs. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age upon entry. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent is required. Applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency and demonstrate an impressive academic record, strong motivation, and potential for impact in the scientific community.
Requirements
The following documents are required for the online application: a Statement of Purpose, Official university transcripts, a Curriculum Vitae (CV), contact details for three referees, an official English language test score (if available), a clear copy of the passport page showing the applicant’s picture and personal details, and payment of an application fee of 200 SAR.

Notes
For the Spring 2027 admission cycle, applications are open exclusively to PhD applicants. Fall 2027 admission is open to MS, MS/PhD, and PhD applicants.
