The Kazakhstan Government Scholarships offer fully funded opportunities for international students to pursue Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees at various universities in Kazakhstan. This program aims to attract talented individuals globally to experience Kazakhstan's education system and rich culture, providing a unique blend of Eastern and Western academic environments.
Coverage
This is a fully funded scholarship. It covers the full tuition fees for your chosen degree program. Additionally, recipients are provided with free accommodation in university dormitories and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. The scholarship also offers assistance with visa and registration procedures upon arrival in Kazakhstan.
Eligibility
These scholarships are open to international students from all over the world, with the exception of Kazakh citizens. Applicants must be seeking to enroll in an Undergraduate (Bachelor's), Master's, or PhD degree program. The award is intended for students undertaking their first degree at each respective level of higher education.
Requirements
Applicants must provide a valid identification document (or proof of refugee status, if applicable). Academic history, including diplomas and grade transcripts, must be submitted with official translations if not in Kazakh, Russian, or English. For Bachelor's applicants, a good academic record, typically a B average or higher, is required. If a diploma is not yet available, a recent academic record with official translation will suffice. A personal essay written in Kazakh, Russian, or English is mandatory. Two recommendation letters from teachers or employers, also in Kazakh, Russian, or English, are required. A health certificate suitable for studying abroad and proof of HIV/AIDS freedom must be submitted. If you have already received an invitation from a Kazakh institution, you should attach it. If sponsored by Kazakhstan UNRWA, attach their letter. Language proficiency in English, German, French, or Chinese may be required, demonstrated by test scores (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, DSH, TestDaF, TFI, DELF, DALF, TCF, HSK). However, this requirement may be waived if the official language of your home country or the teaching language of your previous school was English, provided the school is not very old. PhD applicants must also include a research proposal in their chosen study language (Kazakh, Russian, or English).
