Overview

The University of Oxford and the Mastercard Foundation, through the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme, offer these graduate scholarships. In partnership with Saïd Business School, up to three AfOx Graduate Scholarships are available for the 2027-28 MBA programme. The program aims to support Africans who have overcome hardship and demonstrate a commitment to Africa's development.

Coverage

The scholarships are fully funded, covering full course fees and a grant for living costs, which is at least £21,805. Additionally, scholars will receive tailor-made training programmes, networking opportunities, and support before, during, and after their time at Oxford.

Eligibility

Applicants must be African nationals, ordinarily resident in an African country. They must not have already completed a Master's degree and must demonstrate a strong commitment to Africa's development. Ethiopian students are eligible as Ethiopia is an African country.

Requirements

No separate scholarship application is required. However, candidates must submit a complete application for the MBA programme by the specified deadline.

How to apply

To apply for the scholarship, you must first apply for the MBA programme at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School. Ensure your MBA application form is submitted by the deadline. If you are shortlisted for an interview, the University will contact you directly.

Notes

The scholarships are for the 2027-28 academic year. Up to three scholarships are available. The program is a partnership between the University of Oxford, Mastercard Foundation, and the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx).
