Overview

The Netherlands offers a residence permit for seasonal work, allowing non-EU/EEA citizens to work in the agricultural and horticultural sectors for a maximum of 24 weeks. This is a single permit covering both residency and work (GVVA).

Coverage

This is a work permit program, not a scholarship. Applicants are responsible for their own application fees (approximately €254.00) and must secure a job offer from a Dutch employer who will act as a sponsor. Employers are expected to provide suitable housing.

Requirements

- Valid passport or official travel document. - A formal job offer from a Dutch employer. - Must meet income requirements to support yourself. - Must undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test upon arrival. - No history of illegal stay in the Netherlands in the three years prior to application. - Official documents must be legalized and translated into Dutch, English, French, or German.

How to apply

1. Secure a job offer from a Dutch employer. 2. The employer should ideally submit the application for the MVV (provisional residence permit) and the single permit simultaneously to the IND by post. 3. Alternatively, you may apply yourself at a Dutch embassy or consulate abroad. 4. Wait for the decision (typically within 90 days). 5. Upon approval, collect your MVV sticker and travel to the Netherlands to receive your residence permit.
