Overview

The OHCHR Humanitarian Funds Fellowship is a one-year, fully funded program based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is designed for young professionals to gain hands-on experience in human rights, specifically focusing on supporting survivors of contemporary forms of slavery and torture.

Coverage

The fellowship is fully funded and includes a monthly stipend for living expenses, return airfare to Geneva, and basic health insurance.

Eligibility

Open to international applicants. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in human rights issues related to slavery or torture and experience providing direct support to survivors. Individuals with lived experience of slavery or torture who support other survivors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate a working knowledge of English. Fluency in French or Spanish is desirable, and knowledge of other UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is an advantage. Experience in project management and familiarity with the UN system are also desirable.
