Funding partial Overview
ORIX Corporation USA has established a scholarship program to assist students planning to continue their education in college, pursuing select areas of study. The program is administered by Scholarship America.
Coverage
If selected, students will receive a $5,000 award. Up to four awards are granted. Awards are for undergraduate study only and are not renewable, but students may reapply each year if they meet eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a high school senior, graduate, or current college undergraduate. They must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. They must plan to pursue a degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, marketing, communications, technology, real estate, or human resources. Applicants must reside in or plan to attend college in Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio, New York, or Texas, USA. Additionally, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: low socioeconomic status (family income at or below 150% of current U.S. Department of Health & Human Services poverty guidelines for their household size), foster care status (currently in foster care or has aged out), or be a first-generation college student (neither parent/guardian has earned a four-year college degree). Employees of ORIX USA and their immediate families are not eligible.
Requirements
Selection is based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, and unusual personal or family circumstances. Financial need will be considered, and recipients must demonstrate need. Required documents include a current, complete transcript of grades (showing student name, school name, grades, credit hours for each course and term). If SAT or ACT scores are not on the transcript, a copy of the test score report(s) must be uploaded separately. A copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 (used for the Financial Information section of the application, with all social security numbers and bank account information blacked out) is also required.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online through the Scholarship America portal. The application closes on July 8, 2026, or when 200 applications have been received, whichever comes first.
Notes
All applicants will be notified of their status in August via email. Scholarship payments are processed by Scholarship America on behalf of ORIX Corporation USA and are made in September. The selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America, and ORIX Corporation USA employees are not involved in the selection process. Not all applicants will be selected.
