* Additional airfare allowance
* Full tuition fees
* Comprehensive medical insurance
* Monthly living stipend

Eligibility
Applicants must be citizens of certain developing countries (including Ethiopia) with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts. They must be applying to a Master's degree program in a development-related topic. Specifically, applicants must have received an unconditional admission offer from one of the JJ/WBGSP participating Master’s programs. After completing their degree, scholars are committed to returning to their home country to apply their new skills.
Requirements
The primary requirement is to secure unconditional admission (except for finance) to one of the 44 JJ/WBGSP Participating Master’s Programs offered across 24 universities in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan. Detailed eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to and provided in the specific call for applications.
How to apply
The application process is organized in two rounds to accommodate the academic calendars of participating programs. The link to the JJ/WBGSP application form will only be communicated to candidates who have been unconditionally admitted to one of the JJ/WBGSP participating Master’s programs and subsequently shortlisted as eligible JJ/WBGSP applicants by the participating university. Potential candidates are advised to contact the university offering their targeted JJ/WBGSP participating Master's program to understand their specific admission and shortlisting requirements. There is no application fee for the World Bank Scholarship.
Notes
All eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to, and no exceptions are made. The application window for developing country nationals for 2026 has been announced, with a deadline of May 29, 2026, for Round 2.
