Scout Adventures Volunteer Programme 2026/27 in the UK | Funded Program

The Scout Adventures Volunteer Programme 2026/27 offers residential volunteering opportunities in the UK. It is designed for individuals who want to gain outdoor experience, learn new skills, and work with young people at Scout Adventures centers. There are two main programs: the UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Programme (for UK residents) and the Residential Volunteer Programme (open to UK, European, and international applicants). Participants will live on a Scout Adventures center and join an international community, developing skills in activity leadership, teamwork, and various other areas.

This is a fully-funded program. Volunteers receive on-site accommodation, all meals, uniform, full induction and activity training (including first aid and safeguarding), and recognized qualifications. A weekly allowance of £35 or £45 is provided, depending on the specific program. Direct costs are reimbursable. For qualifying overseas volunteers who require a visa, Scout Adventures can provide a Certificate of Sponsorship.

* General: Applicants must be 18 years old at the start of the placement. A good level of English is required. You should be interested in outdoor activities and learning new skills, and be prepared to commit around 35 hours per week. The program is for individuals only; partners, children, or other family members are not accepted. * UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Programme: This program is specifically for applicants based in the UK. * Residential Volunteer Programme: This program is open to applicants from the UK, Europe, and other countries worldwide. Applicants must be 30 years old or under when the placement begins. If a UK visa is required, applicants must be 18 or over when applying for the visa (approximately three months before training starts). Previous experience in Scouting or working with young people is an advantage but not strictly necessary.

* For UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Programme: Complete the online application form and add a short 2-minute video introducing yourself. * For Residential Volunteer Programme: Fill out the online application form, upload a reference letter from your school, university, employer, or other appropriate referee, upload a picture of yourself, and create a 2-minute introduction video. If you are a current Scout or Guide, provide confirmation of your membership.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an online interview with the volunteering team.
