Overview

The SECAI Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious opportunity for international Master's and advanced Diplom students interested in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related fields. It is offered by the School of Embedded Composite Artificial Intelligence (SECAI), a joint initiative of TU Dresden and Leipzig University in Germany. The scholarship aims to support outstanding students, foster internationalization, and promote diversity in AI-related academic programs.

Coverage

Selected students will receive a monthly grant of EUR 934 to cover living expenses in Germany. Eligible international students may also receive a family allowance. The scholarship duration is limited to the remaining standard duration of the recipient's degree program according to their study plan. This support allows students to focus on their studies, kick-start their research careers, and build professional networks without significant financial pressure.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to international Master's students and advanced Diplom students (those who have completed the first two years of their study, Grundstudium). Applicants must either be currently studying or applying for admission to TU Dresden or Leipzig University. Their study program must be connected to Artificial Intelligence, broadly conceived, including fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Law, Psychology, and other related subjects. Candidates should demonstrate strong academic results, preferably with a cumulative GPA equivalent to a German grade of 1.7 or higher. Applicants should not be simultaneously holding another scholarship. Women in STEM fields, refugees, and students from systematically disadvantaged backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Applicants must have achieved excellent results in their Bachelor's studies, with a preferred GPA equal to a German grade of 1.7 or higher. They must be pursuing Master-level studies in an AI-related field at TU Dresden or Leipzig University. A separate application for admission to the university is required.

How to apply

To apply, visit the official SECAI scholarship website (secai.org/students/scholarships). From there, you will find a link to the online application form. You will need to fill out the form, choose your study program, upload all required documents in PDF format, and submit a motivation letter. It is crucial to apply separately for admission to your chosen Master's or Diplom program at TU Dresden or Leipzig University. Carefully review your application before submission.

Notes

The application period is from April 1st to June 30th, 2026. The final deadline for all applications is June 30, 2026. However, a limited number of outstanding applications may be selected earlier, so applying before the final deadline is advisable. The scholarship duration is determined by the remaining standard study period of your degree program.
