Overview

This scholarship offers five young space entrepreneurs, founders, or team members the opportunity to attend Silicon Valley Space Week (SVSW) in the USA. This premier event brings together leaders from the commercial and national-security space communities, including investors, consumers, and government stakeholders. The event is scheduled for October 27–29, 2026, in Mountain View, California, USA. The scholarship aims to support the next generation of space entrepreneurs in advancing their ventures.

Coverage

Each scholarship provides a Silicon Valley Space Week Full Access Pass, valued at USD $1,895. This pass includes full access to the Satellite Innovation Symposium, the MilSat Symposium, all conference sessions, breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks, and an evening reception. Please note that the scholarship only covers the conference ticket and registration. It does not cover travel, accommodation, visa fees, meals outside the conference schedule, or any other personal expenditures.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to international applicants, including Ethiopian students. To be eligible, you must be a registered, eligible member of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and be between 18 and 35 years old on October 29, 2026. Applicants should be founders, entrepreneurs, members of a startup team, or individuals actively working on a commercial space-related project. You must have an economically viable idea or space-related venture and be able to clearly justify how attending Silicon Valley Space Week would advance your project. An established business or prior funding is not required.

Requirements

Applicants are required to submit two separate one-minute videos as part of their application: 1. A one-minute video explaining why you want to attend Silicon Valley Space Week and how you would utilize this opportunity to advance your company, venture, or idea. 2. A separate one-minute video pitching your company, startup, product, or idea.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted by the deadline. The primary application method involves creating and submitting the two required one-minute videos as detailed in the 'Requirements' section. Ensure your videos clearly address the prompts and showcase your venture. Further instructions and the submission portal can be found on the official Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) website.

Notes

This scholarship is specifically designed for young professionals and entrepreneurs in the space sector who are building, launching, or developing a company, startup, product, technology, or business idea. It is not solely based on student status. Winners will be responsible for all travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements, as well as any other personal costs associated with attending the event. Winners are also expected to comply with the SGAC Code of Conduct and submit a report after the event.
