Overview

The Skoll MBA Scholarship at the University of Oxford (Oxford Saïd Business School) in the UK is designed for social innovators and entrepreneurs. It aims to support individuals with a strong track record in social entrepreneurship who wish to undertake an MBA to enhance their skills for creating more effective social change and positive social impact.

Coverage

This is a fully funded scholarship covering full MBA course fees. It also provides a living stipend of at least £21,805. Scholars will also become part of the vibrant Skoll Scholar community, offering opportunities for lifelong learning and connection with other social innovators.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to both national and international candidates, including Ethiopian students. Applicants must have a strong academic background and a strong track record in social entrepreneurship. This includes having started and led a social venture or played a leading role in expanding an existing social impact initiative. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification and demonstrate that the financial cost of the MBA is a significant barrier to their studies. They must also show personal qualities of a social entrepreneur, such as persistence and a bias toward action, and demonstrate lasting social impact through their work. Furthermore, applicants must intend to continue creating positive social impact after completing their MBA and meet the English language requirements for admission to the Oxford MBA.

Requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree or equivalent, a strong academic background, and a proven track record in social entrepreneurship. They must also demonstrate financial need and meet the English language proficiency requirements for the Oxford MBA program.

How to apply

Candidates must apply online directly for the Oxford MBA Programme at Oxford Saïd Business School. The application process requires submitting a complete MBA application along with the Skoll Scholarship essay document. This essay document can be found in the 'Funding' section of the MBA application form. Both the MBA application and the Skoll Scholarship essay must be submitted before the application deadline. If shortlisted, candidates will be invited to the next stages of the selection process, which includes interviews.

Notes

Up to four scholarships are available. Scholarship essays are reviewed after each MBA admissions stage. Applicants will receive an update on their scholarship application status shortly after admissions decisions are made. Final shortlisting typically occurs in late March, with interviews scheduled for April or May.
