The UNHCR Internship Program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience within the United Nations system. Internships are available at various UNHCR offices globally, including headquarters and field offices.

Coverage

This is a partially funded internship. Interns receive an allowance to assist with food, local transportation, and living expenses. UNHCR also provides reimbursement for return travel costs to/from the duty station. Visa-related costs are not covered, though UNHCR provides documentation support.

Eligibility

Open to students and recent graduates from all nationalities, including Ethiopia. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a UNESCO-accredited institution, or have graduated within the last two years.

Requirements

Applicants must be proficient in English (minimum B2 level). You must not have immediate relatives (parents, siblings) currently employed by UNHCR as staff or affiliates.
