For selected finalists, travel costs (flights) to Rome, Italy, for the finalist program and awards ceremony will be covered. Finalists and winners will receive global recognition, a customized trophy, and their work may be featured on UN platforms and international media. Eligibility

This opportunity is open to individuals and organizations from all countries worldwide. Applicants must already be actively working on projects that demonstrate real and measurable results in their communities. Previous finalists or winners of this award are not eligible to apply again.

Requirements

Applicants must have been working on a project that shows real and measurable results within the last three years. Projects that are still in the idea or planning stage are not eligible. The work must clearly fit into one of three categories: Changemaker (for individuals), Creativity (for initiatives/organizations), or Resilience (for initiatives/organizations). The application must be completed and submitted in English.

The Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards program is powered by the UN SDG Action Campaign, a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, hosted by UNDP. It is supported in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The final awards ceremony will take place on October 29, 2026, in Rome, Italy.
