Overview

The USTC Research Internship Program offers international students the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research projects at the University of Science and Technology of China. The program lasts between 3 months and 1 year and provides access to modern laboratories and expert supervision.

Coverage

USTC offers three levels of fellowships: Level A (fully funded: tuition waiver, medical insurance, free dormitory, and monthly stipend), Level B (tuition waiver, medical insurance, and free dormitory), and Level C (tuition waiver only). Stipends vary by academic level.

Eligibility

Open to non-Chinese citizens with a foreign passport. Applicants must be graduate students or 3rd/4th-year undergraduate students aged 18 to 40 who are in good physical and mental health.

Requirements

Applicants must secure a pre-acceptance letter from a USTC professor in their research field before applying. Required documents include a valid passport, CV/resume, certificate of enrollment, study plan, academic transcripts, and at least one recommendation letter from a full or associate professor. Documents must be in English or Chinese (or notarized translations).

1. Identify a potential supervisor via the official website and obtain a pre-acceptance letter. 2. Register and complete the online application form on the USTC International College portal. 3. Select 'Non-degree program - Research Internship'. 4. Upload all required documents and submit.

Notes

Accommodation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The application window for the spring semester is typically July 1 to September 30.
