Yenching Academy at Peking University 2027 – Full Scholarship for Master’s Study in China

The Yenching Academy at Peking University offers a full scholarship for Master’s study in China. This program annually enrolls approximately 120 new students, with about 75% being international. It aims to immerse young leaders and innovators in an intensive learning environment to explore China and its role in the world, shaping global citizens with a nuanced understanding of China.

This is a fully-funded scholarship. It provides a generous fellowship to all scholars, which includes: - Tuition fees - Accommodation - Monthly stipend - One round-trip travel fare - Field study costs

Applicants must meet the following criteria: - Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field, or be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with the expectation of receiving their diploma by August of the intended enrollment year. - Possess an outstanding academic record. - Demonstrate a strong interest in the interdisciplinary study of China. - Have a record of extracurricular achievement, community engagement, social responsibility, and leadership potential. - Show English proficiency. - Please note: Peking University does not allow students to be enrolled in other degree programs while studying at the university.

To apply, candidates must submit the following materials in English through the online application portal: - Completed online application form. - Personal statement (750 words or less). - Statement of Research Interest (maximum 1500 words, excluding citations). - Curriculum Vitae (CV). - Official transcript(s). - Diploma(s) or Certificate(s) of Enrollment. - Two academic letters of recommendation (Chinese or English). These letters must be written by full professors or associate professors (or equivalent titles) and submitted by professors in the applicant’s intended field of study. - English proficiency test report, unless your native language is English or you have graduated from an English-taught degree program (undergraduate or above). Accepted tests and minimum scores are: - IELTS (Academic): Overall 7.0 - TOEFL (iBT): Overall 100 - Cambridge English Scale (Advanced): Overall 185 - CET 6: Overall 600 - TEM 4: Pass level of “良好” or above.

Candidates should apply through the Yenching Academy’s online application portal. You will need to create an account and submit all required materials in English. For English proficiency tests (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge), ensure scores are sent directly from the testing organizations. For TOEFL, use institution code C488.

English proficiency tests must be taken after September 1, 2025. The Academy does not accept TOEFL MyBest Scores, TOEFL iBT Home Edition, IELTS Indicator test, IELTS Online, or IELTS One Skill Retake.
