Overview

The A*STAR Computing and Information Science (ACIS) Scholarship is a fully funded program designed to support international students pursuing a PhD in computing and information science disciplines in Singapore. It aims to prepare scholars for careers in research, technology, and academia.

Coverage

The scholarship covers full tuition fees for up to 4 years. It provides a monthly stipend of SGD 4,550, along with allowances for books, computers, conferences, and thesis research. Support for overseas research attachments may also be provided.

Eligibility

Open to all international students, including those from Ethiopia. Applicants must have a strong academic background, typically a Second Upper Class Honours degree or equivalent, and a keen interest in research careers in computing and information science.

Requirements

Applicants must apply for a PhD program at an approved university (such as the National University of Singapore). A strong academic record is required. GRE scores are optional but encouraged. Candidates must be willing to fulfill a 3-year service bond in a Singapore-based company upon graduation.

Interested candidates must submit an online application through the official A*STAR portal and simultaneously apply for PhD admission at the chosen university. The process includes submitting academic transcripts, two referee reports, and a research proposal.
