Overview

The Audi Environmental Foundation, in collaboration with One Young World, offers a fully funded scholarship for 10 passionate young leaders to attend the One Young World (OYW) Summit in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 3-6, 2026. This summit is designed for individuals who are actively addressing climate problems through the development of new and creative technologies, the improvement of climate education, and the protection of ecosystems. The Summit provides a valuable opportunity to network with other young leaders globally, exchange knowledge, and gain inspiration.

Coverage

This is a fully funded opportunity. It covers two-way airfare to Cape Town, free hotel accommodation for the duration of the summit, full participation in the summit activities, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and free transportation between the accommodation and the summit venue. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit South Africa without any personal cost.

Eligibility

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age. Candidates of all nationalities, including Ethiopian students, are eligible to apply. Those older than 30 may be considered if they can demonstrate appropriate personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage. Eligible candidates should possess strong leadership qualities, have a clear understanding of local and global issues, and demonstrate the ability to solve environmental challenges with innovative solutions.

Requirements

To apply, candidates must complete an online application form. This includes writing several short essays: 250 words on the current environmental issues they are working on, 200 words explaining how they are working to solve these issues, 200 words describing how their work has impacted people, 200 words explaining how their work is unique and different from others, and an explanation of why they wish to attend this summit. Applicants may also provide links to blogs or websites where their work has been published.

They must then complete all the essay questions and provide any additional information requested in the subsequent steps. Finally, applicants should review and submit the completed form online before the deadline.

Notes

The One Young World Summit will take place from November 3-6, 2026, in Cape Town, South Africa. Upon completion of the summit, delegates become One Young World Ambassadors, gaining lifetime access to a global community of more than 17,000 people.
