The Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) Winter Fellowship 2027 is a three-month international opportunity in London, UK, designed for early-career individuals and professionals interested in AI Governance. Fellows will undertake an AI Governance research project of their choice, receive mentorship from leading experts, and participate in expert Q&A sessions, a seminar series, and workshops. This program aims to develop a broad understanding of the field and foster connections with other researchers and practitioners. The fellowship will take place from January 18 to April 9, 2027.
Coverage
This is a fully-funded fellowship. Successful fellows will receive a stipend of £12,000, comprehensive travel support for relocating to London, and visa sponsorship for international candidates who require it. Additionally, fellows will have access to a dedicated workspace in the London office and will be provided with weekday lunches throughout the fellowship duration.
Eligibility
This fellowship is open to early-career individuals or professionals from all over the world. Candidates should have a strong interest in the field of AI Governance. Applicants are welcomed from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, including public policy, political science, computer science, economics, biosecurity, cybersecurity, China studies, risk management, academia, government, industry, and civil society. While there are no formal educational requirements, ideal candidates should demonstrate relevant graduate-level education, research, or professional experience in related fields. How to apply
