Overview

The COP31 CCMP Reporting Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity for journalists from low- and middle-income countries to attend and report on the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 9 to 20, 2026. The program is organized by the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), led by the Earth Journalism Network and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security.

Coverage

The fellowship is fully funded and covers round-trip airfare, accommodation, travel insurance, local transportation, and visa cost reimbursement. Fellows will also receive a stipend for meals and daily expenses, along with mentorship and reporting support.

Eligibility

Applicants must be journalists from eligible low- or middle-income countries (including Ethiopia). You must have previous experience reporting on climate change, environmental issues, or climate policy. Journalists who have previously attended a UN Climate COP conference in person are not eligible.

Requirements

Applicants must have a good command of English, provide a support letter from an editor or media outlet, submit at least three recent climate-related work samples, and record a short video (up to 2 minutes) explaining their planned coverage of COP31.

Notes
