Overview

The FIAS Fellowship Programme offers 10-month research fellowships at seven Institutes for Advanced Study in France (Aix-Marseille, Cergy, Loire Valley, Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris). It is designed for high-level international scholars and scientists to conduct innovative research in a multidisciplinary environment.

Coverage

This is a fully funded fellowship. Benefits include a monthly living allowance of €2,200, social security coverage, accommodation support, a research and training budget, and coverage of travel expenses.

Eligibility

Open to researchers of all nationalities, including Ethiopians. Applicants must hold a PhD and have at least two years of research experience (excluding PhD training time). Applicants must not have spent more than 12 months in France during the three years prior to the application deadline.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a detailed CV (including publication list and three academic referees), a copy of their PhD degree, a detailed research proposal (max 5 pages) with a 1-page bibliography, and 3-5 selected publications. Optional: up to two letters of recommendation.

Notes

The program is open to all disciplines in Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) and related fields. Artists meeting the eligibility criteria are also welcome to apply.
