The International Geneva Peace Fellowship is a 9-month residential program in Geneva, Switzerland, designed for emerging peacebuilders, researchers, humanitarian professionals, and future leaders. It is a partnership between Interpeace and the Geneva Graduate Institute, supported by the Foundation for the Adaptation of International Geneva. The fellowship aims to foster the next generation of leadership in peace and humanitarian diplomacy by providing practical experience, training, and networking opportunities with leading international organizations.
Coverage
This is a fully-funded fellowship. Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend, support for work authorization and permit processes, and accommodation at Villa Barton (subject to availability). Additionally, participants will gain access to professional training, mentorship, and extensive networking opportunities with influential international organizations in Geneva.
Eligibility
This fellowship is open to talented individuals from around the world, including Ethiopian students. Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
- Recent Graduates: Master’s graduates who completed their degree within the past 12 months, or advanced PhD candidates transitioning into policy or practice.
- Junior Professionals: Individuals with 1–4 years of professional experience.
- Mid-Career Professionals: Individuals with 5–10 years of professional experience.
Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical and research skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to peacebuilding and humanitarian work, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Candidates must also choose a thematic area that aligns with their background and interests from the following options: The New Frontier of Peacemaking, Health and Peace, Faith-Based Diplomacy and Peacebuilding, Youth Leadership and Peacebuilding, Protection of Civilians, or Women, Peace and Security.
Requirements

Notes
The program is scheduled to run for 9 months, from September 2026 to June 2027. A total of 10 fellows will be selected for this cohort. Fellows will be placed with partner institutions based on their expertise and interests, working on real peacebuilding and humanitarian projects.
