Overview

The EU Blue Book Traineeship is a 5-month paid internship program offered by the European Commission. It provides young graduates with practical experience in EU policymaking, administration, and translation within EU institutions and agencies.

Coverage

Selected trainees receive a monthly living allowance of approximately €1,538.16. Benefits include health insurance coverage, a contribution to travel expenses, and potential support for visa costs for non-EU nationals.

Eligibility

The program is open to university graduates. While primarily for EU citizens, a limited number of spots are available for non-EU nationals. Applicants must have completed at least a three-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have less than 42 days of previous work experience in any EU institution or body.

Requirements

For non-EU nationals, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the three main working languages (English, French, or German) at a C1 or C2 level. An official university diploma or confirmation of degree completion is required.
