The European Youth Assembly (EYA) 2027 is an international gathering organized by the Center for International Policy and Sustainability (CIPS), a Canada-based organization. It will run for four days, from March 17 to 20, 2027, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This assembly is designed for young leaders, innovators, advocates, and changemakers from around the world, including students, entrepreneurs, researchers, policy advocates, and young professionals from any background, to engage in dialogue, networking, learning, and policy engagement focused on shaping global policy and sustainable development.
Coverage
EYA 2027 offers 100 competitive seats across three categories: 30 Fully Funded, 20 Partially Funded, and 50 Free Assembly Passes. Additionally, 150 Direct Access seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fully Funded seats typically cover international airfare, hotel accommodation for the event duration, visa support letters and guidance, meals and coffee breaks during assembly days, full access to all sessions and activities, a certificate of participation, and event merchandise.
Partially Funded seats generally cover benefits such as meals, visa support, and full conference access, while participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their flights and accommodation.
Free Assembly Passes provide access to the event without a funding package attached.
Direct Access registrations include full access to sessions and activities, a certificate of participation, and networking opportunities, but do not include accommodation or airfare support.
Eligibility
Applicants should generally be between 17 and 47 years old. The opportunity is open to people from all countries and regions, with no nationality restrictions, making Ethiopian students eligible. No specific academic background or job title is required; university students, graduates, and working professionals from any field are welcome. Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in leadership, policy, sustainability, innovation, human rights, entrepreneurship, education, technology, or community development, and be willing to actively participate in discussions and sessions.
Requirements
A small non-refundable application fee, reported around $17.99, is typically required for scholarship categories (Fully Funded and Partially Funded seats) to be considered. Applicants need to complete an application form, including their background, interests, and a motivation statement. For international travel to the Netherlands, visa documents may be required, and early preparation is advised.
How to apply
1. Visit the official EYA 2027 application page run by CIPS.
2. Choose your desired category: Fully Funded, Partially Funded, or Free Assembly Pass, based on your needs and eligibility.
3. Complete the application form, providing your background, interests, and a well-thought-out motivation statement.
4. Pay the application fee (if applying for funded categories).
5. Submit your application before the deadline.

Notes
It is crucial to confirm the latest requirements, deadlines, and exact funding details directly on the official CIPS application page, as program details can be updated closer to the event. Do not book non-refundable travel or make any payments until you have received a confirmed offer and understand your specific funding category. Prepare your visa documents early, as international travel to the Netherlands may require advance processing depending on your country of origin.
