The Google EMEA Legal Summer Institute (LSI) 2026 is a paid international internship designed for law students. It offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal field by interning at one of Google’s partner law firms across the EMEA region. Additionally, participants will spend a week at Google (either remotely or in-person, depending on location) to attend career development sessions, skill-building workshops, and networking events. This program aims to provide valuable exposure to both private practice and in-house legal careers at a global technology company.
Coverage
This is a fully-funded, paid internship that offers generous financial assistance. Benefits include the opportunity to join a six-month mentorship program with a Google lawyer, exposure to various legal career options and paths within the field of law, and engagement in interactive sessions and workshops focused on improving interview techniques and CV writing skills. Participants will also have the chance to connect directly with senior legal professionals and lawyers, gaining insights into in-house legal careers.
Eligibility
Applicants must be current law students, aged 18 or older, and from the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, or Africa). Students with little or no prior experience in the legal field are strongly encouraged to apply. A strong academic track record is required. Proficiency in English is essential, as the full Google week will be conducted in English. Applicants must also be proficient in the local language of the country where their internship is based.
Requirements
All interns must have legal authorization to work in the country where the internship is based. It is important to note that visa support is NOT offered for the EMEA Legal Summer Institute.
How to apply
The application process varies depending on the target country. For internships in Egypt, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Turkiye, and the United Arab Emirates, applicants should use the specific application form by signing in through their Google account. For other participating locations within the EMEA region, the application process is managed by partner law firms and region-specific channels. Applicants should visit the official Google Careers page for detailed instructions and to initiate their application. If shortlisted, applicants will be contacted by email for the next steps, such as interviews.
